FLIR Systems has introduced A400/A700 fixed mount thermal imaging cameras as a smart sensor and image streaming solution to monitor facilities, production lines, critical infrastructure and to check people for elevated body temperature in the fight against COVID-19.

These widely configurable camera systems enable precise, non-contact, temperature monitoring in many different disciplines from industrial applications to the improvement of environmental, health and safety aspects. The FLIR A400/A700 Smart Sensor Thermal Imaging Solution offers simultaneous image streaming from multiple cameras, network-based analysis capabilities and WLAN connectivity. The Smart Sensor configuration, which is recommended for measuring elevated skin temperatures, is equipped with network-based data processing capabilities in addition to advanced software-based measurement tools and alarms which allows decisions to be made more quickly in critical situations.

FLIR is currently conducting beta testing of a new solution for automatically detecting elevated skin temperature in people who are being screened, which can be fully integrated with its FDA-certified thermal imaging cameras. This new solution is expected to significantly improve the accuracy, ease of use and speed of existing inspection solutions and FLIR will publicly demonstrate it in the second quarter of 2020.
