Steadicopter, the Israeli company behind the BLACK EAGLE 50 Rotary Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (RUAV), is currently demonstrating the system with different payloads. Noam Lidor, Sales and Marketing Director of Steadicopter told ESD that the payloads are for performing a long list of missions.

“The BLACK EAGLE 50 is a unique VTOL platform that is very efficient because it is design,” he said. The aircraft will be valuable for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance applications at sea, and on land, though the exact configuration can be defined by the customer. Lidor explained that compared with other Vertical Take Off UAV’S that use the rotors for take-off and then for horizontal flight, the fact that the BLACK EAGLE 50 is a rotorcraft gives it high efficiency. The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 35kg and payload capacity of 5kg with a communication range of up to 150 km, depending on the client’s requirements, and a service ceiling of up to 10,000ft.

Its total length is just 2540mm and the max air speed is 126 km/h with a cruising speed of 81 km/h. According to the company the combination of the full VTOL capability and the advanced sensors make the Black Eagle 50 a very good solution for a long list of missions.
