Brazil has ordered two Xpeller systems from Hensoldt to counter the increasing threat posed by drones to the civilian population and armed forces. The order, which is part of a framework contract, is worth more than €1m.

Following a drone defence symposium, Hensoldt demonstrated the capabilities of the modular Xpeller system in live demonstrations with a multidisciplinary team from Europe, South Africa and Latin America. Components can be integrated into the system as required, with Xpeller variants now ordered consisting of a combination of EO/IR sensor technology, radar, radio reconnaissance (RF detection) as well as jamming as a countermeasure for defence, optimised for the customer.
