OTOKAR has received orders from an African country worth around US$110M for ARMA 8×8 and COBRA II 4×4 tactical armoured vehicles, with follow-up orders expected. The delivery will start in 2021 and be completed by the end of 2022 with the supply including spare parts and training services. OTOKAR is very happy about the deal because it is the first time that the ARMA 8×8 is delivered to a country in Africa, although the company’s armoured vehicles are used in 35 countries worldwide.
ARMA & COBRA Features
The ARMA 8×8 are modular wheeled vehicles with tactical features, excellent terrain suitability and innovative protection systems against mines, IEDs and emerging threats. Thanks to its modular design, the vehicle can be employed on different missions, such as troop carriers, IFVs and air defence vehicles. The COBRA II 4×4 weighs 12 tonnes, and the cabin offers room for nine people. The vehicle is powered by a 281 hp diesel engine and has a top speed of 110 km/h with a range of 700 km.
