A new digital competition has been launched by the organisers of IT²EC, Europe’s primary exhibition and conference for military training technology. The DisTec Challenge asks innovators and progressive organisations to showcase disruptive technology solutions which can transform training, education and simulation. Providers serving the military and civil protection communities are invited to demonstrate their recent technological advances within these areas.
An expert judging panel will evaluate entries in a competitive ‘digital’ environment based on three categories: desirability, feasibility and viability. All entries will be displayed on the DisTec Challenge website, creating a showcase of emerging solutions. Shortlisted participants will then proceed to the Grand Final – broadcast live on the IT²EC website in January 2021, accompanied by a series of keynote addresses from leading industry stakeholders.
The judges will select an overall winner, with a separate Peoples’ Choice award determined by an online public vote. Both winning organisations will receive a complimentary exhibition stand at the next edition of DisTec in Seville, or equivalent discount on conference/networking tickets, worth up to £4,000.
Entries can include developments across training, education or simulation, including:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Augmented Reality
- Autonomous Systems
- Cognitive Enhancement
- Machine Learning
- Virtual Reality
- Wearable Technology
To submit an innovation or find out more about the challenge, please visit the IT²EC website.
The submission deadline is Monday 7 December.
