The delivery of the first Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) 6×6 to Latvia marks the start of the scheduled delivery of the 200 vehicles on order. This was preceded by two weeks of training for instructors, users and maintenance personnel, according to manufacturer Patria.
After almost two years of joint development, Finland, Latvia and Patria signed a supply contract in August 2021 for 200 vehicles to be delivered to Latvia between 2021 and 2029. Finland has committed to concluding a supply contract in the near future. The order volume is expected to cover 160 vehicles.
The programme is open to other interested parties. In September 2021, Sweden registered its interest in participating in the programme.
