In the scope of the Robotic Autonomous Systems (RAS) Concept Development & Experimentation Programme of the Royal Netherlands Army, Elbit Systems has demonstrated the company’s capabilities for ISR missions utilising heterogeneous autonomous swarms. The demonstration in Northern Israel deployed swarms comprising the PROBOT UGV and two types of Vertical Takeoff and Landing mini Unmanned Aircraft System (VTOL mini-UAS). These included the THOR, all powered by the TORCH-X RAS software suite (command and control application, autonomy kits, planning tools), the company writes in a press release. During the demonstration, different robotic pairings operated as swarms, autonomously performing three types of operational mission. These included:
- planning
- navigating to predefined points
- allocating sectors
- the performance of various ISR tasks
Seperately, Elbit Systems has announced the establishment of Elbit Systems Emirates (ESE). The Company, through its newly established subsidiary, will seek to foster a long-term cooperation with the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, oversee customisation of solutions to operational needs of end users and lead the transfer of technologies to local partners, Elbit writes in a press release.
Elbit Systems’ booth at the Dubai Airshow 2021 (#510) will highlight solutions to facilitate:
- multi-domain networked warfare
