Finland Awards Elbit Systems a Contract to Supply Radio Communications Systems
On 31 October 2022, Elbit Systems announced that they had been awarded a contract by the Finnish Ministry of Defence to supply radio communications systems to the Finnish Army. The contract was valued at approximately USD 25 million, and is due to be completed by late-2024.
Under the contract, Elbit Systems will supply advanced secured radio communications systems that provide tactical command and fire control functionality, and are backward compatible with analogue radio equipment that is currently in use by the Finnish Army.
Several European and NATO countries have already selected Elbit radios, including Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Canada, Spain and others. In Germany, Elbit is being considered as a potential radio supplier for the Bundeswehr’s Digitalization of Land-Based Operations (D-LBO) project.
