On 25 November 2022, Saab announced that it had signed a contract with the Polish State Treasury Armament Agency for design, production and support of two Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) ships for the Polish Navy. The order is valued at EUR 620 M, with deliveries scheduled for 2027. Saab stated that the contract is subject to the fulfilment of certain financial conditions, which are expected to be fulfilled by the end of 2022.

Under the contract, Saab will serve as prime contractor, designing the two ships and also responsible for the integration of mission systems. The ship hulls will be built by Polish subcontractor Remontowa Shipbuilding SA. SIGINT vessels are used to support the acquisition of intelligence data across the electromagnetic spectrum, and will provide the Polish Navy with an improved capability to gather intelligence from monitoring foreign communications and electronic signals.
