On 15 December 2022, optics company Photonis announced that they had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Xenics, a specialist developer and manufacturer of infrared sensors. Xenics is a supplier of Short Wave InfraRed (SWIR) and Long-Wave InfraRed (LWIR) imagers, which employs 65 people and is headquartered in Leuven, Belgium. The deal will allow Photonis to provide Xenics imaging products to their Business-to-Business customers.
The merger is expected to be finalised by January 2023, pending customary clearances and approvals.
