Israel’s Elbit Systems announced on 6 February 2023 that it has shipped the 600,000th radio in its E-LynX series of software-defined radios (SDRs). The recipient of the unit was the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), which received the system as part of its Tactical Ground Radio (TGR) programme.

For more than 55 years Elbit has focused on developing and manufacturing state-of-the-art, secure, military networked communications technologies for air, sea and land forces, developing a portfolio of various HF, VHF, UHF, microwave and satcom systems covering the entire electromagnetic spectrum.

The 600,000th radio delivered to the Swedish armed forces was a fifth-generation tactical V/UHF SDR from the E-LynX family that offers advanced and secure battlefield communications capabilities, according to Elbit. This radio offers fast communications; has the ability to transmit voice, data and video simultaneously in any terrain; and supports multi-dimensional digitisation systems, the company stated.
