Rohde & Schwarz has appointed a new head at its Kiel location, the company announced on 15 February 2024.

Karsten Moeller, whose appointment was effective from 15 February, previously held various roles at Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, where his most recent position was head of engineering.

Among other things, Moeller will be tasked with further expanding the Kiel location as a naval centre of competence.

To intensify its traditionally close collaboration with the German Navy and the naval industry, Rohde & Schwarz has increasingly invested in its Kiel location. The company moved into a new facility in Wissenschaftspark Kiel (Kiel science park) in August last year, at which point the naval centre of competence was inaugurated.

Moeller was quoted as stating in a company press release, “More than 40 navies around the world already rely on the scalable, modular and adaptable solutions from Rohde & Schwarz. We now have to strategically position the naval centre of competence to pursue current and future large-scale German projects as well as international naval projects. I want to tackle this challenge together with my team.”
