Israeli advanced wireless communication solutions provider Commtact announced on 8 July 2024 that it has been selected for a multi-million-dollar missile project with “a top-tier defence customer”, marking a major milestone for the company.

The landmark project involves rsearch and development for a tailor-made solution that integrates smart communication with advanced encryption, immunity capabilities across air, sea, and land domains, as well as multi-domain topologies. The solution will enable the missiles to exchange critical information, adapt to changing missions, report communication issues and adjust tasks on the fly, all of which enhance mission success and effectiveness by allowing lock on before launch (LOBL)) and lock-on after launch (LOAL) modes of operation.

Derived from insights from recent conflicts, the system’s “robust capabilities ensure real-time data collection, mission adaptation and dynamic target changes, even in complex urban settings”, the company noted. “The technology’s adaptability in adjusting communication frequencies and efficient data transmission make it ideal for short-range operations, up to dozens of kilometres. Moreover, the seamless plug-and-play installation enhances the missile’s capabilities without adding weight, representing a significant advancement in defence communications,” the company added.

Guy Avrahami, vice president for sales and marketing at Commtact, emphasised the significance of the strategic deal, stating, “This important and strategic deal establishes our position in the missile field globally, integrating smart communication solutions for this segment. We are poised to set new standards in mission performance and operational resilience, redefining the capabilities of defence and security forces worldwide.”

Commtact has also introduces for the first time its multi-domain topologies technology, transforming communication in challenging warzones and urban environments, the company noted. This technology empowers operators to seamlessly control multiple unmanned aerial vehicles in complex scenarios to elevate mission success and effectiveness.
