ELT Group Deutschland, the German arm of European defence electronics house ELT Group, has been awarded a contract by the Finnish Ministry of Defence for the design, implementation, documentation and support of an electronic protective measures (EPM) training system, the company announced on 11 March 2025
The value of the contract, if all options are exercised, could reach approximately EUR 13 million.
“I am honoured by the trust placed by the Finnish Defence Forces in our capabilities,” Marcello Mariucci, managing director of ELT Group Deutschland, was quoted as saying in a company press release. “This contract validates the massive experience in military systems, in the modelling of the electro-magnetic spectrum (EMS) and simulations of EMSO [electromagnetic spectrum operations] sensors in a realistic operating scenario. We look forward to a continued partnership with the Finnish Defence Forces,” he added.
Under the contract ELT Group Deutschland will supply advanced training systems for the Finnish Defence Forces’ sensor operators.
“Our innovative and state-of-the-art training solutions will secure Finland’s sensor operator training capability for the next decade, allowing them to train with the highest degree of realism,” said Daniel Schröder, ELT Group Deutschland’s technical director.
ELT Group Deutschland is focused on the development of radio frequency-based test and evaluation systems for radar, communications and electronic warfare (EW) devices. The company also manufactures, maintains and integrates EW sensors into mobile military platforms.
