Avon Technologies announced on 23 June 2025 that it has received an order worth around GBP 10.2 million (EUR 12 million) from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to provide Avon Protection FM50 respirators to the Ukrainian armed forces.
Deliveries of the masks will be made in Financial Year 2026. The number of masks ordered was not disclosed.
Avon noted in a press release that its FM50 respirator meets the latest NATO military mask requirements and is in use across the world. The FM50 provides full-face protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats. Its twin filter conformal system sits close against the face, providing the wearer with high protection but with very low breathing resistance, ensuring a comfortable wearer experience.
The FM50’s wide panoramic, flexible and scratch-resistant visor, which is the result of new bonding technology that incorporates both visual clarity and integral durability, optimises visibility for the wearer.
The mask features three face piece sizes for an improved fit as well as a high-flow fail-safe drinking device.
The FM50 also allows clear direct communication through a front-mounted exhale valve or radio communications through an electronic communication port.

This trust is extended to the benefit of our Ukraine partner to provide enhanced protection for their personnel on the front line.”
