BAE Systems has received a contract modification worth over USD 390 million (EUR 336 million) to produce additional Bradley A4s infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) for the US Army.
The order, which was announced on 26 November 2025, covers the upgrade of additional Bradley Fighting Vehicles to the A4 standard, which features greater lethality, survivability and safety, as modern replacements for former variants.
Work on the contract is already underway, with first vehicle deliveries to be complete by October 2026.
Built with proven durability and commonality of design to reduce the logistics burden in the US Army’s motorpool, the Bradley A4 features digitised electronics for optimum situational awareness, network connectivity and communication across the army’s Armored Brigade Combat Teams (ABCTs), “further increasing the ability to defeat the any adversary no matter the terrain, temperature or threat”, BAE Systems stated.
Executed alongside a successful partnership with Red River Army Depot (RRAD), BAE’s production and support efforts for the Bradley A4 take place across the company’s US defence-industrial network, including sites at Aiken, South Carolina; Anniston, Alabama; Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Jose, California; Sterling Heights, Michigan; and York, Pennsylvania.
“Lethality, performance and next-generation capability is what the Bradley A4 brings to the fight,” Bill Sheehy, Ground Maneuver product line director for BAE Systems, was quoted as saying in a company press release. “It’s critical that we continue upgrading Bradleys to the modern A4 configuration so that warfighters have the equipment they need to dominate. This award not only fuels our commitment to keep the army and our allies ready for the fight, but it also ensures our US manufacturing lines stay hot and ready for continued production.”
