German signal analysis specialist Procitec has appointed Matthias Assel to lead the company as managing director alongside Stefan Haase and be responsible for product development, the company announced on 8 January 2026.

With the expansion of its management team, Procitec is specifically looking to strengthen the technological core of the company and set the course for further sustainable growth in the field of highly specialised software solutions for signal monitoring and analysis.

Assel has extensive experience in managing complex development organisations. Most recently, he was director of R&D SIX at Thales Deutschland, where he was responsible for the engineering division of a business unit with around 250 employees at several locations. In this role he managed the development of safety-critical products, shaped the strategic development of the organisation and designed the co-operation with customers, authorities and research partners.

Assel previously held various management positions in software development and quality assurance at international technology companies.

“Procitec stands for technological excellence and innovative software solutions in the signal intelligence environment. I am very much looking forward to working with the team and my fellow managing director to drive the further development of the company and strategically strengthen Procitec,” Assel was quoted as saying in a company press release.

Procitec Managing Director Stefan Haase added, “With Matthias Assel, we are gaining an extremely experienced technology and software expert for the management team. His experience in building high-performance development organisations and his deep understanding of complex, security-critical systems are a great asset to Procitec.
