L3Harris Technologies announced on 5 January 2026 that it has reorganised its business structure from four to three business segments to more closely align its portfolio with the future of warfare.

The three business segments and their leaders are as follows:

  • Space & Mission Systems (SMS), led by Sam Mehta;
  • Communications & Spectrum Dominance (CSD), led by Jon Rambeau;
  • Missile Solutions (MSL), led by Ken Bedingfield.

In addition, Bedingfield will continue to serve as senior vice president and chief financial officer, while Ed Zoiss has been appointed as vice president for engineering and innovation.

SMS will integrate satellite and payload capabilities, including for missile warning and defence, with maritime, air special missions, and other global defence and civil government programmes. CSD will combine all of the company’s capabilities in resilient communications and electronic warfare, while MSL will unite propulsion, hypersonics and other advanced missile technologies.

“This change thoughtfully organises common business models, technical capabilities and investment priorities,” Christopher Kubasik, L3Harris’ chairman and CEO, was quoted as stating in a company press release. “Enabling the Arsenal of Freedom requires action, and we’re now best poised to deliver the speed, technology and commerciality required by our most important customer: the warfighter.”

The company will provide additional details during its earnings call on 29 January, including realignment of 2025 financial results into the three-segment structure.
