ILA Berlin features the first in-person gathering of the aerospace industry in Europe since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. From June 22-26, 2022, Europe’s aerospace trade fair will once again transform Berlin into “the place to be”, welcoming aerospace pioneers and space enthusiasts from all over the world. Under the slogan #PioneeringAerospace, ILA Berlin showcases the transformation of civil aviation towards climate neutrality around the three key topics: Innovation, New Technologies and Sustainability. At the same time, #ILA22 will also highlight the benefits of discoveries made in space for society as a whole, ranging from climate protection and digitalisation, to mobility and security.

A special feature of this year’s ILA Berlin will be the five STAGES, which will be spread across the four exhibition halls located directly next to the newly opened BER airport. These infotainment STAGES include expert talks, panel discussions, debates and science slams evolving around future trends in aerospace. In addition, the #ILA22 CareerHub provides the younger generation as well as experienced professionals with an opportunity to engage and network with key players from the aerospace industry.

Thanks to the newly created platform, ILA DIGITAL, aerospace pioneers will also have the opportunity to follow a large part of the daily onsite programme virtually. The International Defence Industry Exhibition celebrates its 30th anniversary.  For decades, the event has strengthened its position. Now it is ranked third among all defence industry exhibitions in Europe, ranked after Paris and London. MSPO 2022 promises to be a record-breaking event. The showroom is held in Kielce from 6 to 9 September. An Open Day follows the expo on 10 September.

Intense preparations for the event are underway. Today‘s reports show that over 600 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries join the expo to present their products and services. This year‘s show breaks all-time records. This also means that 50 per cent more companies come to Targi Kielce compared to last year‘s results. Defence industry representatives from the following countries join the show:

Turkey plays a unique role at this year’s MSPO this year‘s MSPO lead nation. 27 Turkish defence companies join the trade fair and there are also three Korean companies, which are to provide Poland with as many as 1,000 K2 tanks, 672 K9A1 self-propelled howitzers and 48 FA-50 combat aircraft. No equipment will be available at Korean stands, but the expo visitors will be able to see 1:7 scale models. The presence of the US defence industry is also strong. MSPO is the showcase for Abrams tanks, M142 HIMARS missile launchers, to name just a few. The latter proved excellent during the war in Ukraine. On 5 April 2022, the Ministry of National Defence signed a contract for 250 ABRAMS M1A2 SEPv3s, the latest generation MBTs. The Polish purchase plans also include almost half a thousand of Himars launchers.

There will also be a plethora of helicopters on display, including the US CH-47 Chinook transport helicopters, the multipurpose Black Hawk and the AH-4 Apache assault helicopters. The Bell AH-1Z VIPER, is to be presented at Targi Kielce for the first time. The Italians will present their AW109 TREKKER light helicopter and the medium AW139M.

The International Defence Industry Exhibition is held in Kielce from 6 to 9 September. An Open Day follows the expo on 10 September.
