Turkish company STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Tic. A.Ş has announced a contract from Azerbaijan for an unknown number of the KARGU tactical mini-drone, a rotary wing attack UAV. KARGU has been in service with the Turkish Armed Forces since 2018 and, according to the company, the UAV’s capabilities have been permanently improved through feedback from various missions in difficult geographical conditions in different countries, using embedded machine learning algorithms.
KARGU has been designed to provide ISR and precision strikes in high-risk areas, using EO and IR sensors for day and night operations. The system is operated based on the “man-in-the-loop” principle.
