General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) and Elbit Systems, with the support of the Spanish Government, hosted an industry day in Bratislava to engage local industry sources to collaborate on the ASCOD programme. The event, which was also attended by Austrian and Israeli officials, was part of GDELS’s and Elbit’s initiative to seek local companies to collaborate on the ASCOD programme if selected by the Slovak Government. More than 50 Slovak companies participated in the event. A number of leading defencecompanies and suppliers attended, including:
- Renk
- Plasan
- Scania
- Northrop Grumman
GDELS and Elbit seek to enable innovative local partners to contribute to and benefit from ASCOD and future business opportunities, GDELS writes in a press release. The proposal provides for technology transfer and training of industry partners that intends to position Slovakia for additional export opportunities by joining both companies’ global supply chains.
