Franco-German firm KNDS (KMW+Nexter Defense Systems) and Israel’s Elbit Systems signed a teaming agreement at the DSEI 2023 exhibition in London on 14 September that formalises their co-operation on the EuroPULS next-generation rocket artillery system.

The EuroPULS system is based on Elbit’s in-service Multi-Purpose Universal Launching System (PULS) and its range of precision-guided munitions, to which KNDS adds its system integration expertise to produce a flexible artillery system that can conceptually fire rockets of all manufacturers from any mobility platform.

The system’s open-cradle design allows the launcher to be ‘effector agnostic’ regardless of the length of the rocket pods being mounted on it, while a client country can also determine what truck chassis is used to carry the launcher.

The teaming agreement signed at DSEI 2023 enables stronger co-operation and synergy between the companies as well as the transfer of technology to KNDS for local production and workshare regarding the launcher and to facilitate its integration into German and wider European fire control systems.
