French mobility specialist Texelis took the opportunity of its participation at the Partner 2023 defence exhibition, held in Belgrade from 25 to 28 September, to celebrate its long-standing partnership with Serbian state-owned weapons manufacturer Yugoimport–SDPR.

Over the past eight years the two companies have co-operated on the production of several hundred vehicles, with Texelis involved in most vehicles developed by Yugoimport since 2015. The French company was first selected to provide mobility elements for the Lazar 3 8×8 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and was then selected to provide the axles for the Milosh 4×4 multipurpose vehicle.

Building on the success of the Milosh, Yugoimport has recently launched the larger Milosh 2, which benefits from Texelis’ new-generation T750 axles and technology for enhanced payload, mobility and general transport capabilities. Throughout the development of these platforms, Texelis has been entrusted at the highest level with advising Yugoimport on mobility and general design concepts.

As of 2023 Texelis has equipped a significant quantity of Lazar 3 IFVs, with an ongoing order for T900 axles. Texelis has also equipped Milosh vehicles with its T700 axles. Given that the Milosh, Milosh 2 and Lazar 3 also have export potential, Texelis involvement in Yugoimport vehicle production could well move beyond the several hundred vehicles already produced.

Beyond its work with Yugoimport, Texelis has also developed and provided complete mobility solutions for vehicles such as the French Army’s Serval 4×4 armoured vehicle, working in partnership with French military vehicle manufacturer Nexter.

These mobility solutions are now available for Texelis to create new strategic partnerships in relation to armoured vehicle production, as well as deepening the company’s involvement in supplying wheeled armoured vehicles to the French and Serbian military.
