Saab has received an order from BAE Systems Hägglunds for sight and fire control capability for the CV90 infantry combat vehicle, Saab announced on 11 October 2023.
The value of the contract is approximately SEK 970 million (EUR 84 M), with the ordered systems to be delivered between now and 2029.
The sight and fire control systems covered by this contract are for CV90s bound for the Czech Republic, which in May 2023 ordered 246 CV90 MkIV IFVs in seven different variants under a contract worth SEK 22 Bn. The work under the contract will be performed in Sweden and the Czech Republic.
In May 2023 Saab received an order from BAE Systems Hägglunds for sight and fire control capability for CV90s destined for Slovakia, which in December 2022 ordered 152 CV9035 IFVs under a contract worth EUR 1.3 Bn.

“The new order further underlines our great collaboration with BAE Systems Hägglunds as well as our ability to scale up production,” Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab’s Surveillance business area, was quoted as saying in a Saab press release.
Saab says its sight and fire control capability for tanks and combat vehicles provides a high hit probability against ground and air targets, regardless of the vehicle’s movements.
