The Republic of Kazakhstan has signed a contract to purchase another C295 transport aircraft, Airbus announced on 31 January 2024.

The order is for a third C295 for operation by the Aviation Service of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee, according to Airbus.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.

The first C295 of the Aviation Service was delivered in 2020 and has accumulated “almost 2000 flight hours of day and night operations in the most demanding climatic conditions of the country”, Airbus stated in a press release. The Aviation Service’s second C295 was acquired in early 2023.

The Kazakh Air Force already operates eight C295s, while a single C295 is in service with the Kazakh Border Service.
