The US State Department has approved possible Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Poland covering AGM-158B-2 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles – Extended Range (JASSM-ER), AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs) and AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missiles, the US Defense Security Co-operation Agency (DSCA) reported on 12 March 2024

The JASS-ER sale is worth USD 1.77 billion (EUR 1.63 billion), the AMRAAM sale USD 1.69 billion and the AIM-9X sale USD 219.1 million, with all three potential sales now passed to the US Congress for final approval.

Poland has requested to buy 821 AGM-158B-2 JASSM-ER missiles; 745 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAMs, up to 16 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM guidance sections, and 50 LAU-129 missile launchers; and 232 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II Tactical Missiles and 16 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II tactical missile guidance units.

All sales include spares and various aspects of technical, training, logistical and programme support.

Poland already has JASSM-ER, AMRAAM and AIM-9X missiles in its inventory.

The principal contractor for the AMRAAM and AIM-9X sales will be RTX Corporation out of its facilities in Tucson, Arizona, while the principal contractor for the JASSM-ER sale will be Lockheed Martin out of its facilities in Orlando, Florida.
