Amsterdam-based Franco-German joint venture KNDS has formally renamed its group companies Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter Systems with effect from 8 April 2024, the company announced the following day.

Krauss-Maffei Wegmann has become KNDS Deutschland, while Nexter Systems is now KNDS France.

As part of the renamings, the names of the German, French, British, Italian and Belgian subsidiaries of KNDS France and KNDS Germany have also been legally adapted.

For all other subsidiaries of the group, the name changes will be implemented by the end of 2024.

The previous brand names had already been replaced by the ‘KNDS’ brand in June 2023. The legal name changes, however, required special co-ordination with authorities, customers and suppliers, so they were implemented in a second step.

The KNDS portfolio inherited from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter Systems ranges from main battle tanks and other armoured vehicles to artillery systems, weapon stations, ammunition and military bridges. The company also provides battle management systems, training solutions, protection solutions and a wide range of other military equipment.
