Turkey’s Aselsan is introducing a new configuration of the Göksur point defence missile system featuring a launcher with a 20-missile capacity at the Euronaval 2024 exhibition, held in Paris from 4-7 November.
The new 20-missile Göksur system, known as the Göksur 100-N, features Göksur imaging infra-red missiles originally designed for air-to-air combat but now adapted for naval defence.
The Göksur 100-N has a 360° engagement capability, while its fast-moving stabilised turret minimised the time taken to engage a target, even in in adverse sea conditions in a multi-threat environment, according to Aselsan. The system is also highly effective in conducting simultaneous multiple engagements using an advanced fire control system with artificial intelligence features and a mid-course guidance capability to address modern anti-ship threats. With its enhanced missile capacity, the Göksur 100-N system offers greater operational flexibility and improves a naval vessel’s situational awareness, Aselsan asserts.
Different configurations of the Göksur point defence missile defence system – including the Göksur 100-N VLS, which features a flexible and modular vertical launch system, and the Göksur 100-N/StA, which has a turret that can operate in a standalone capacity – are also available, providing users with modular air and missile defence solutions.
Aselsan is also using Euronaval to showcase its Gökdeniz close-in weapon system, Marlin unmanned surface vehicle, Düfas low-frequency active sonar system and Deringöz autonomous underwater vehicle.
Aselsan president and CEO Ahmet Akyol was quoted in a company press release as saying. “As Aselsan, we are excited to showcase our expertise and innovative solutions in the naval domain at Euronaval, and to introduce the new version of our Göksur point defence missile system. As a global defence company, we are committed to strengthening our presence in the naval domain by developing best-in-class products and expanding our global presence. We see Euronaval as a key opportunity to enhance existing partnerships and explore new collaborations with potential partners worldwide.”
