Elbit Systems announced on 10 February 2025 that it has been selected by a European country to provide a Joint National Digital Fire Command Centre (JNDFC) and to integrate the customer’s strategic and tactical firing platforms to the JNDFC.
The Israeli company declined to name its client, as is often the case, although it usually specifies whether the client nation is a NATO nation. Given that it did not do so in this case might suggest that the client is Ukraine.
Under multiple new contracts worth a total of approximately USD 100 million (EUR 97 million), Elbit will deliver its cutting-edge multi-domain digital fires warfare capabilities at a joint level for the centre, integrating its command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) Digital Fires Suite, including Torch-X Fires, E-LynX software-defined radios and the GRX-8000 high-capacity line-of-sight resilient microwave communication system. Additionally, Elbit will digitise an artillery battalion and fully integrate it into the command centre.
The JNDFC will enable the client to effectively command its firepower in real time, including artillery platforms such as howitzers, rocket launchers, mortars, and precision and loitering munitions, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, sensors, such as radars, and forward observers. The advanced system will extract rapid and enhanced performance from its firing units by digitising the fire processes, integrating real-time intelligence and C4I, and thus significantly improving the sensor-to-shooter cycle.
Haim Delmar, general manager of Elbit Systems’ C4I and cyber business, was quoted in a company press release as saying, “Modern warfare is constantly evolving, driving an increasing demand for Elbit’s unique experience and offerings in multi-domain digital warfare solutions. These solutions provide unparalleled effectiveness, enhanced operational efficiency and maximised performance of fire platforms through a fully digitised process. The customer’s decision to once again select Elbit Systems validates the technological and operational advantages offered by our solutions.”
