L3Harris Technologies signed a long-term agreement with the Dutch Ministry of Defence (MoD) on 27 March 2025 for the delivery of advanced Falcon IV tactical radios under the Dutch armed forces’ Foxtrot tactical digitisation programme, L3 Harris announced on 31 March.

The agreement is valued at up to EUR 1 billion.

“Our battle-proven communication systems will improve secure military communications by facilitating interoperability with other European and NATO forces to address current and future threats,” Sam Mehta, president of communication systems at L3Harris, was quoted as sating in a company press release. “These resilient devices will enable enhanced capability to strengthen homeland defences, deter regional conflicts and provide direct support to coalition and security co-operation efforts.”

The Falcon IV radios will allow immediate interoperability with more than a million tactical devices already fielded globally.

L3Harris Technologies’ in-country leadership – known as L3Harris Technologies’ Netherlands – has made a commitment to the long-term growth of the Dutch defence industry. It is investing in European technology partnerships; developing in-country technical maintenance and support facilities; and recruiting and training Dutch talent.

The Falcon IV family of systems converge multiple technologies into a single radio, providing real-time voice, data, full-motion HD video and crossbanding for mission-critical communications while eliminating the need to carry numerous devices.
