Avner Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is participating in a new defence technology project by Group 11, an American-Israeli venture capital fund led by investor Dovi Frances. This is according to LinkedIn posts by Frances and Netanyahu.
Netanyahu joins Umbrella Corporation
Netanyahu has been appointed senior associate of the investment firm’s newly founded project. The Israeli business and financial newspaper Globes, the daily newspaper Ha’aretz and the news portal Israel National News have confirmed the appointment.
The American-Israeli project called The Umbrella Corporation is a newly established business division focused on the company’s defence investments. It concentrates on investments in the technology and security sectors. The Umbrella Corporation operates under Frances, which focuses on innovative technologies in the defence industry through strategic partnerships.
Netanyahu: ‘We are capital and catalyst’
In a post on LinkedIn, Avner Netanyahu writes: ‘I had an incredible time as an associate at Strategy & Israel.’ Now it’s time for a new chapter. ‘I am very excited to start my new role as senior associate at Group 11’s umbrella organisation today.’
Netanyahu is confident that the company ‘will reshape the future of technology.’ He added in his post: ‘Behind every breakthrough in technology is a network. We are that network. The capital. The catalyst. We are the Umbrella Corporation.
