Embraer delivered the second of two C-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft ordered by the Hungarian Air Force on 21 November 2025.
The aircraft was handed over in a ceremony at Kecskemét Air Base in central Hungary attended by Hungarian Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky along with other officials and Embraer executives.
The first Hungarian Millennium was delivered in September 2024 after two C-390s were ordered in November 2020. According to Embraer, the first Hungarian C-390 has performed a wide variety of missions at a completion rate above 99%. Embraer additionally noted that, with the delivery of its second aircraft, Hungary becomes the first C-390 operator to receive all contracted aircraft.
The Hungarian C-390s are also the first in the world to feature a modular roll-on/roll-off medical intensive care unit.
“This is a truly uplifting and joyful moment, an incredibly important event in the development of the Hungarian Air Force. And I can say with certainty that the Hungarian people have become richer and stronger as a result,” said Szalay-Bobrovniczky at the handover ceremony. “This type of transport capability was lacking in the Hungarian Air Force’s arsenal, but now it is available. Thank you very much to everyone who contributed to this process.”
“This is a significant milestone for Embraer as we deliver the second C-390 Millennium to the Hungarian Air Force,” added Bosco da Costa Junior, president and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “This aircraft will further enhance Hungary’s capabilities by providing superior operational performance, greater flexibility, and reduced life-cycle costs. As partners, we look forward to expanding our co-operation to support the Hungarian Air Force in all its current and future operational needs.”
