Gore-Tex will present numerous technologies for police and military personnel at this year’s Enforce Tac, taking place from February 23 to 25 in Nuremberg, in Hall 7A at booth 7A-537. Among them is the new Pyrad Daily Duty Uniform Light from Gore-Tex Labs, which, according to the company, combines flame protection with low weight, high air permeability, and freedom of movement—without compromising on protection levels.

As the base layer of a flame-resistant, modular clothing system for police forces, it is specifically designed for use in warm weather or during high physical exertion. Riot police in closed units must not only cope with changing weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain, but also be prepared for hazards like short-term flame exposure during daily operations. Many conventional flame-resistant textiles provide reliable protection against heat and flames but tend to be heavy, stiff, and barely breathable.

For soldiers, this also means an additional burden—especially in warm to hot climates and during movement-intensive missions. The lightweight and elastic Pyrad product technology resolves this conflict: it offers protection against sudden flame exposure while ensuring a more comfortable and cooler wearing experience thanks to its very low weight, high air permeability, and stretch content, even under heavy gear. According to Gore-Tex, it complements the company’s portfolio of flame-resistant, membrane-free laminates for military combat uniforms.

The Gore-Tex Extraguard upper material combines, for the first time, the advantages of a robust outer material with those of lightweight, breathable textiles—paving the way for an entirely new class of duty boots. The new concept study from the Gore-Tex brand demonstrates what is possible in the design and construction of combat boots for military applications and tactical boots for police and government agencies using Extraguard technology: the protection of a duty boot with the comfort of a sneaker.

Gore-Tex also invites visitors to its Brand Lounge at Enforce Tac on February 24 from 16:00 to 18:30 at the Congress Center East, Level 1, Room Hong Kong. Under the title “Faster to the Forces – Pathways to Greater Speed in Security Sector Procurement,” Colonel André Wüstner, Chairman of the German Armed Forces Association, Prof. Dr. Michael Eßig, Professor of Business Administration at the Bundeswehr University Munich, Dr. Stefanie Pieck, Head of Procurement at Bundeswehr Bekleidungsmanagement GmbH, and Benedikt Schlichting, Garments Business Unit Leader at Gore-Tex, will participate in the discussion.
