On 4 November 2022, Hensoldt announced that their newly-developed SferiRec LCR100 compact flight recorder has received ED-155 and ETSO-2C197 certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The SferiRec LCR100 is equipped with modern sensors to record flight, datalink, video and audio data. These are used are used for data analysis after an aviation accident to determine faults, causes, and so help to prevent future accidents.

The SferiRec LCR100 flight recorder has various interfaces with different data formats to record altitude, position, speed, engine data and other relevant information. The integrated sensors include a built-in microphone for ambient noise, three-axis gyroscope and accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a GPS receiver and an air pressure sensor. Weighing just 1 kg, the recorder unifies all recording functions that were previously distributed among different devices. Flight data as well as maintenance data can be read out on an accessible SD card. Due to its low weight, volume and power consumption, the flight recorder can be used to equip light aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), as well as heavier aircraft.
