ELT Group Germany, a key player in defences for more than 45 years, announced on 7 December 2023 that it had appointed Daniel Schröder as its new technical director.

“With an impressive background that includes a successful military career and extensive experience in the defence industry, Mr Schröder is well positioned to further develop the company’s product and technology strategy,” the company stated in a press release.

Schröder served in the German armed forces from 1999 to 2012. As an armoured officer he held various positions during this time, including platoon commander, company commander and head of the hearing centre for non-commissioned officers. He also demonstrated his commitment and leadership qualities during a foreign deployment in Afghanistan in 2011.

In 2012 Schröder moved into the defence industry. Starting as a project manager in international customer projects for an SME, he then took over the management of the prototyping department before becoming technical manager, which allowed him to further develop his technical expertise and leadership skills.

We are convinced that his vision and experience will play a crucial role in guiding the technological progress of our company and our product development. We look forward to achieving new milestones with him on board.”

Schröder said of his new role and the opportunities it brings, “I am honoured to join ELT Group Germany as Technical Director. I look forward to contributing my experience and further improving the company’s performance.”
