Spanish defence concern Escribano Mechanical & Engineering has inaugurated a new office in Brussels, the company announced on 29 February 2024.
Escribano will use the new office to concentrate its liaison activity with the institutions of the EU – including the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the European Defence Agency – as well as NATO. In addition, the new office will act as a liaison point with the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU and NATO and will allow for closer collaboration with other leading European companies and industrial associations.
Its permanent presence in Brussels will strengthen Escribano’s role in future European initiatives or those already underway, such as the European Defence Fund, in which the company is participating through various projects, such as the European Hypersonic Defence Interceptor (EU HYDEF) and European Future Highly Mobile Augmented Armoured Systems 2 (FAMOUS2) initiatives.
“Escribano’s arrival in Brussels is a further step in its commitment to consolidate its presence in Europe and, at the same time, contribute to the positioning of the Spanish defence industry in Europe,” the company stated in a press release. “In this sense, the office will be a meeting ground to promote debate and exchange of views on policies and initiatives of interest to the sector.”
