Israeli sighting specialist Meprolight has opened a new assembly line in India in co-operation with local firm RRP S4E Innovation, with an official launch event taking place in Mumbai on 10 July 2024.

The technology transfer agreement with RRP S4E Innovation responds to the increasing global demand for Meprolight’s optical and electro-optical sights and supports the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities.

The assembly line will produce a range of MIL-STD and battle-proven products: the Mepro MOR, which is a versatile reflex sight for day, low-light, and night operations with integrated laser pointers; the Mepro M5, a red-dot sight with multiple brightness levels and night vision goggle compatibility; and the Mepro M21, a self-illuminated reflex sight utilising fibre-optic and tritium technology, ensuring continuous operation without batteries.

Production of the sights by RRP S4E Innovation in India will adhere to military and ISO 9001 standards.

“This initiative not only meets the rising global demand for Meprolight sights but also underscores our dedication to delivering superior solutions worldwide,” said Golan Kalimi, vice president of marketing at Meprolight, was quoted as saying in a company press release. “We are committed to sharing our manufacturing expertise with our Indian partners at RRP S4E Innovation, supporting the ‘Made in India’ initiative [of the Indian government] and fostering more job opportunities in the country.”

Meprolight, a member of the SK Group, has been developing, manufacturing and marketing sighting systems for armed forces, law enforcement agencies and the civilian market since 1990.
