UK simulation and virtual training specialist ST Engineering Antycip announced on 31 July 2025 that it is delivering a next-generation virtual training solution for the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MoD’s) Joint Command and Staff Trainer (JCAST) programme.
The company will deliver a high-fidelity enhanced virtual training environment based on the MAK ONE simulation platform and its VR-Forces simulation engine for the JCAST programme, while MASS will provide operational and strategic command-and-control (C2) systems integration expertise and Hadean will contribute cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
“At the heart of the JCAST system lies VR-Forces, deployed and supported by Antycip,” the company stated. “This computer-generated forces (CGF) platform enables the creation of rich virtual environments populated with intelligent autonomous agents ideal for tactical to strategic training, mission rehearsal and experimentation with AI-driven decision-making.”
The combining of VR-Forces with Hadean’s AI platform will modernise the military training used by UK Strategic Command, enabling defence personnel to run complex, adaptive combat scenarios that support safe, efficient training, analysis and iteration beyond traditional limitations, Antycip added.
“This project is a strong example of what happens when open-architecture simulation platforms like MAK ONE meet the power of AI. We’re proud to play a key role in enabling the UK MoD to evolve its training capabilities and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow,” Colin Chester, partner solutions architect at Antycip, was quoted as saying in a company press release.
“This new training capability represents more than a technological upgrade; it’s a step-change in how defence organisations prepare for uncertainty, complexity, and joint force operations,” Chester added.
Formerly Antycip Simulation, ST Engineering Antycip has teams in the UK, Italy and France and is part of Singapore-based ST Engineering.
