Founded in October 1907, A&R is looking back over 114 years of ship and yacht building. In a press release, the company informs that from its perspective, the year 2021 has been the most versatile since the company was founded. The current order backlog includes a 118 m mega-yacht in the stage of outfitting which will be delivered next year, the largest ship A&R has ever built. A contract for an even larger yacht – 120 m – was signed in the summer. In addition – and apart from several refit programmes – the company’s order book includes three +90 m multipurpose vessels for use in LNG operations in hazardous (flammable or toxic) environments.

In the segment of naval shipbuilding, two MCMVs for the Indonesian Navy are under contract, 62m in length and made of non-magnetic steel produced in the scope of a laser welding process.

“Working on a range of projects and technologies for different clients and purposes has always been a strength of Abeking & Rasmussen“ explains Matthias Hellmann, CFO of A&R.
