According to a press release from Rafael, a live fire test carried out by the US Marine Corps (USMC) with an IRON DOME-based prototype at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico proved that the missile system was successfully integrated with the USMC architecture. The system performed exactly as was predicted by a USMC simulation prior to the test itself, Rafael emphasises and speaks of a major breakthrough for the integration of the IRON DOME ground launcher and TAMIR interceptor missile with the Marine Corps’ Medium-Range Intercept Capability (MRIC) prototype with the USMC G/ATOR radar and CAC2S battle management system.
