US artificial intelligence and sensor integrator MatrixSpace has appointed retired US army lieutenant colonel Michael Barbero to its advisory board, the company announced on 20 July 2023.

The appointment, which the company said would strengthen its engagement within the defence and commercial sectors, follows the recent additions of retired US Air Force lieutenant general Glenn Spears and retired US Army brigadier general Robert Hipwell to the MatrixSpace advisory board.

Barbero served for 37 years in the US Army as an infantry leader until his retirement in 2013. His service included 46 months in Iraq over three separate combat tours of duty, commanding large US and NATO organisations while co-ordinating complex political-military operations, including working with allies, senior foreign government and coalition leaders.

Today Barbero works with senior government and business leaders across the globe to develop opportunities for US companies.
