BAE Systems has received a USD 181 million (EUR 155 million) contract from the US Marine Corps (USMC) to produce 31 additional 30 mm cannon-armed Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACV-30s), the company announced on 12 August 2025.

The contract is part of the recently awarded full-rate production (FRP) Lot 5/6 contract. This latest award, designated as FRP 5C, brings the total number of ACV-30s ordered thus far to 91.

The FRP 5/6 contract includes a series of options to produce up to 150 vehicles, with the USMC exercising the option for FRP 5A and 5B in May for 60 vehicles valued at USD 360 million.

BAE Systems is also currently under contract for the ACV-Personnel (ACV-P) and ACV-Command (ACV-C) variants.

After the ACV design proposed by BAE Systems and Iveco was selected in June 2018, the first 18 ACVs were delivered to the USMC in October 2020. The commencement of FRP for the ACV-P was announced by the USMC and BAE Systems in December 2020.

The USMC is ultimately expected to procure around 390 ACV-Ps, 33 ACV-Cs and 175 ACV-30s. BAE Systems is meanwhile in the process of constructing three PRTVs for the ACV-Recovery (ACV-R) variant, which will provide field maintenance, recovery and repair capabilities to the USMC’s Assault Amphibian companies. Around 34 of these are expected to be procured.

Work on the ACV-30s will take place in York and Johnstown in Pennsylvania and Charleston in South Carolina through the fourth quarter of 2026.

A total of 91 ACV-30s have now been ordered by the US Marine Corps under FRP contracts. [BAE Systems]
