This grouping brings together 19 defence companies from the EU (Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Latvia and Spain) to start the development of the next generation of armoured vehicles.

The FAMOUS programme aims to develop future technologies and services that enhance ground combat capabilities in the areas of:

  • mobility
  • hybrid operations
  • power generation and energy storage
  • security systems
  • situational awareness
  • robotics
  • C4I solutions
  • weapon systems
  • advanced life cycle support solutions

The study was launched with a kick-off day on 14 December 2021. The result is expected to be presented at the end of 2023.
