ELT Group and the Qatari armed forces have signed a letter of intention (LOI) to co-operate on strategic projects in the field of electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO), the company announced on 14 March 2024.

The LoI was signed during the last Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX), held from 4 to 6 March 2024, in the presence of the commander of the Qatar Emiri Air Force, Major General Jassim Al-Mannai, and the CEO and COO of ELT Group, Domitilla Benigni.

The LoI will focus in particular on the development of an electronic warfare and intelligence centre in Qatar.

ELT Group stated in a press release, “This is a confirmation of a solid friendship and long-term co-operation between the Group and the Qatar air force. ELT Group has been present in Qatar since 2017 with the opening of its commercial office, providing support within many national programmes thanks to its portfolio of capabilities in the EMSO domain.”
